Hello! Thanks so much for being here, reading this and for helping me raise funds for Whitelion. It has been a cause close to my heart since I became involved via working at UnLtd.

I am doing this thing because I believe in their work. Your kind donation will go some way to help redress the balance of opportunity for at-risk young people. These people are far from the bad people they can so often be labelled. Most have just been unlucky in their start in life. Almost all will have experienced either unthinkable trauma, isolation, addiction, domestic violence or several/all of the above.

Whitelion began in 1999 with the vision to ‘stop the revolving door’ for young people leaving the justice system. In their work with young offenders, Co-founders Mark Watt and Glenn Manton believed that by linking a young person with a mentor upon release, their ability to re-integrate into the community would be improved. For the next 10 years, Whitelion’s focus on youth justice became a core strength recognised by governments, the youth sector, corporates and the general community as making a real difference to young people’s lives.

Whitelion's CEO, Hang Vo is an absolute inspiration. Having come to Australia as a part of the Vietnamese refugee ‘boat people’ in the late 1970s and being a member of the LGBTIQ+ community, Hang has first-hand experience of dislocation and exclusion. This drives her deep commitment to creating a more just, inclusive and equitable society at Whitelion.

Thank you for sponsoring me! Your donation will support Whitelion and their important work with young people.
